HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm kind of sad that 2011 is coming to end. In less than 10 hours the entire world will have entered 2012, and we are super excited.

2011 has been a banging year for Dubstep! So many fresh and dirty tracks have been released this year, we cannot even begin to count all of our favorite (because we're already kind of drunk). Nevertheless, we know that in 2012 the synths will sound filthier, the drums will bang harder and the bass will be deeper. We absolutely cannot wait to see what this New Year will bring the world of dubstep!

I have been following Blackmill for sometime and I can definitely say that this 11 track album is a hit. Light one up, pop a beer, or just hang back and give this album a play through. Personally my favorite tracks are Don't Let Me Down (feat. Cat Martin), Let It Be (feat. Veela), My Love, Lucid Truth, and Love at Heart.

Skrillex - First of the Year (Featurecast's Last of the Year Re-Edit)

I wouldn't necessarily classify this as dubstep, but rather a sub-genre that I'm just going to make a name for right now: breakstep. Using Skrillex's infamous "First of the Year" banger, Featurecast has created a very interesting yet awesome re-edit. I always love to hear a fresh remake of First of the Year, and this is one mix I'll surely be listening to a lot.

Avicii - Levels (Lucky Hampton Remix)

Levels by Avicii is a masterpiece I think none of us can say no too. Per my love for drum & bass, I couldn't wait to hear this one. Lucky Hampton's DnB remix of Levels is... lets say... pretty f***ing cool. Obviously, no remix will ever match the awesomeness of the original, but this mix is pretty fresh. All I can say is that it's fast, upbeat, and I think Lucky Hampton did a fine job.
